Primary Beginnings child care centers in Raleigh will be celebrating health and fitness this week!
April in Raleigh is a great time to get outside with your family to take advantage of beautiful spring weather. To make sure you have a reason to go, we've rounded up some fun, free events taking place around the Triangle this April! Mark your calendars because you don't want to miss these family-friendly activities!
20th Annual Frog Fest
Where: Crowder Park in Apex
When: Saturday, April 6, 2019; 11:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M.
Visit Crowder Park for froggy fun at the 20th Annual Frog Fest! Everyone in the family will enjoy this day at the park where you can enjoy live music and try out some local food trucks. Your kids will love learning about frogs, making crafts, playing games, and best of all, there is a meet and greet with live frogs and reptiles!
Throughout the event, there will be plenty of educational exhibits and booths from local organizations, including:
- Carolina Children's Museum
- Sylvan Heights Bird Park
- Herpetology Club at NC State
- North Carolina Herpetological Society
- North Carolina Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation.
Triangle Sci-Tech Expo
Where: North Carolina Natural Science Museum
When: Saturday, April 13, 2019; 9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
Visit the Natural Science Museum for the Annual Sci-Tech Expo! This exciting day out features over 50 hands-on exhibits, games, crafts, and activities for children of all ages. Experts, scientists, researchers, and tech leaders from local industries and universities will be providing demonstrations, sharing presentations, and talking about new technologies. With so much to see and do, this is a great way to get your toddler or preschool-aged child excited about science and technology!
Live & Local Spring
Where: Hillsborough Street
When: Saturday, April 13, 2019; 12:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.
Head over to Hillsborough Street for the Annual Live & Local Spring Fest! With 30 local artists and artisans displaying jewelry, paintings, sculpture, and more, there's beautiful exhibits, plus plenty of food, drinks, and live music!
Live & Local isn't just for adults, though. At the Kids Zone, your child can learn how to paint with watercolors, build a fairy house, recycle a t-shirt, build a movie maze, and so much more. Plus there will be children's performances, stories, and a carpentry workshop.
Children's Day Festival
Where: Fred Bond Metro Park, Sertoma Ampitheater, Cary
When: Saturday, April 20, 2019; 11:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
The Children's Day Festival at Cary's Fred Bond Park is an exciting way to learn about children from all over the world and celebrate the next generation. This fun-for-the-whole-family event features over 200 performances from children of all different cultures, a Community Corner, and plenty of crafts and games. Be sure to bring your appetite - the Children's Day Festival features an International Food Tasting center where kids can try traditional foods from around the world, and there will be plenty of local food trucks parked on-site.
Spring Daze Arts and Crafts
Where: Fred Bond Metro Park, Cary
When: Saturday, April 27, 2019; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
Visit Bond Park in Cary for the Annual Spring Daze Arts and Crafts Fair! This is a huge event that features 170 artists and artisans exhibiting their wares, plus there will be live entertainment on four stages, and tons of food from local food trucks and vendors. This event also combines the annual Earth Day celebration.
Children will love the Children's Village where they can learn about the Earth, plant seeds, and make nature-themed crafts. The Sports Zone lets them get their energy out where they can kick, run, throw, throughout a variety of activities, and the Cultural Arts exhibit will allow your child to learn about art across the world.
